Extra work...acting?

Yesterday for me it was! Thanks to Chad  (big thank you!), a was scheduled to be a waiter at Ghost Whisperer  yesterday, the new show with Jennifer Love Hewitt , David Conrad , and guest star Dan Lauria (Mr. Jack Arnold from The Wonder Years). Shortly after check in, I was the only extra called to set to rehearse the scene at the restaurant with David and Dan, David was not there yet, so I hang out till I saw Dan going over his lines. I offered to read the lines with him, and he was very happy I offered. So there I was reading lines with Mr. Arnold! He is so nice, such a great professional actor, and I was just in heaven. We shot this scene from all angles, all morning, and I was in every shot (watch the episode "Voices", not sure when it's airing). The camera crew, the director, everyone knew my name, and I was actually acting instead of being one of the many backgrounds. After the scene was over, I had to change wardrobe and the rest of the day was just doing background stuff, like walking in circles, and lots of waiting. Still fun, because it's a great show to work on. Can't wait to be back on that show as a Guest-Star or Co-Star...:)

Remembering Patrick Kenney

It's been a tough weekend for TLC, Matt H., Cameron, Matt A., and JP, and everyone else who knew Patrick. I have been around them this weekend, and I just want to say that I'm very proud of the way you all are dealing with this immense loss. Like Peter said to me Friday night, "I hope that if I pass, my friends will do the same, and get together, and drink, smoke, laugh and cry while telling stories about me". That's what you all did, and I know the pain is there, but you guys have been able to still stay strong, and make arrangements that needed to be made. You guys are working very hard to honor is life, and Patrick could not have a better and closer circle of friends then you guys.
Please go here , and remember Patrick's life.

Cross walks

Last year on Christmas Eve, Peter and I spend a nice evening together, and for some reason, we happened to walk past Hamburger Marys around 9pm or so. Peter's best friend TLC was there at the bar with his best friend Patrick. I had met him before, and for some reason, the next couple of hours turned into a very fun Christmas Eve. The four of us talked about this evening for months to come, especially Patrick, because it was a lot of fun, 4 men in a bar in West Hollywood on Christmas Eve. Patrick and I got a dog around the same time, about 8 months ago, and a couple of times a week, I would see him walk his dog on Fountain driving on my way to work, and I always yelled and waived at him. My dog and his got along great, so great that his dog wanted to make babies with my dog:)...

Patrick really was a good sport, when his friends got him that awful stripper for his birthday! Gave us a lot of laughter. He always wanted me to pose for him, and wanted him to take my head shots, only I wasn't ready to in exchange for the head shots, create some art without some piece of clothing I normally keep on in front of the camera:)...

If there's ever going to be a real male "Sex and the City", it should be based on the relationship between TLC, Patrick, M, and J. The four of them ARE the West Hollywood version of "Sex and the City". They have such a loving friendship, and would be together everywhere.

Yesterday afternoon, Friday October the 14th, I was driving home, and was stuck on Fountain for a while, because Crescent Heights was blocked of by police cars. I was on the phone with Peter, when I crossed Crescent Heights, and told him there must have been a accident that happened...

Patrick had lunch with a friend, and he was laughing while he crossed the street for the last time in his short life. A random, bizarre accident took his life. He didn't see it coming, no one saw it coming, and that's the shock we're in now. You know you need to enjoy every minute of your life, because it could be over in a second, but do we really do? I'm going to try harder to do so, and let the people I love know I love them as much as I can, and at least once I day, I'm fully going to feel I'm alive, and make a conscious effort to be totally aware and appreciative about it.

TLC, M, J, M & C, and everyone else who knew Patrick, celebrate his life in the days to come to fill the void his departure has left in your lives. My thoughts are with you.

Unexpected Thursday night

I got home from hanging by the pool all afternoon (I know, my life is rough), around 5:30pm, when my room mate calls me and asked if I wanted to see the Kings-Red Wings hockey game at Staples center. He would get my ticket as an early, very early birthday present. So off we went to downtown, and he got us two amazing seats, row 9, way up front, right behind the Kings duck out! It was so awesome! I always wanted to go to a hockey game, and tonight I got a good one! The Red Wings won (which was good, my room mate is from Detroit), there was a small fight among the players, right in front of us, and the seats were so good, we were sitting on the same row as Mark McGrath, and a few rows belows us Jesse James and his new wife, the one and only Sandra Bullock ( I love her!).

Pretty good night for a night for which I had no plans. Tomorrow another day on Crossing Jordan!

Good night!

Yom Kippur

Once again, good luck with the fasting for those who are doing this today. I work for a Jewish Foundation, so I'm off today. Lying in bed, reading blogs, did some acting submissions earlier, and that's pretty much all I had planned for today. Unfortunately, I have to leave my place soon. Two buildings next to my building are being demolished soon, and they started taking all the trees and plants down, and shredding them. So, there goes my quit day at home. What do you do in a situation like this? Yeah, I invited myself and Sierra to go and hang at my friends Timm place (Fishering lives there too, but he is at work), and read by the pool, James19_1 because it's a really nice day. If the noise is already this bad only because of the plants, how bad is it going to be when they actually demolish the buildings..:(

Full day at Universal Studios

Today I worked two jobs on the Universal Studios Back lot. I got to my regular job at 7:45am and worked for an hour, before heading over to Stage 44 for work on Crossing Jordan (thanks Chad!).

I hadn't done extra work for a couple of years, and those experiences were not so great, but at Jordan, everyone was awesome! It was a good day, long but satisfying!

Tomorrow I'm off (unless I can work on Jordan again:)), because of Yom Kippur. After how I felt after my dinner tonight, I wish I started fasting as well after sun down. For everyone observing Yom Kippur, good luck and enjoy the day off (if you're lucky enough to have the day off).

Ghosts

Watching Ghost Hunters on SiFi, and I really love this stuff, investigating the presence of something in a prison or where ever. This show reminds me of Fear on MTV a couple of years ago. I thought this show was awesome, and wish it would come back.

And I still haven't seen Ghost Whisperer! I wanna be on that show too. I submitted myself a couple of times, and hopefully I will work on that show soon, speaking or non speaking part.

About acting

Brenda_and_nateAs mentioned in my previous post, Phillip Seymour Hoffman was amazing in Capote. When I watch a movie I try just to relax instead of focusing on how the acting is "done", which is hard, because imagine an athlete just watching the sport they play without having an opinion on trying to learn something. Anyway, Phil was great they way he transformed himself and was able to honestly portray this character.
I was watching episode 12, season 2 of Six Feet Under (yes, I'm a little behind), and there's a scene between Brenda and Nate when they call of the engagement. I normally can't stand Brenda and don't know why she got so many rewards for playing that part. But this scene was so true, emotional, honest and real, that I was in awe by the acting performances, especially by Peter Krause. It really inspired me to keep on working on my craft in any way I can right now.

Movies

Last week I watched "Walk on Water" on DVD. I think it won Oscar for best foreign film not so long ago. I really enjoyed the movie. I has several layers and several subjects bond together in one story. It deals with the live of a hit man, straight men dealing with gay friends, haunted by family history (grandfather was a Nazi), so very interesting. Check it out.
Now, on Saturday I went to see Capote . GO SEE IT! This movie is great, eerie, dark, funny, historic, but most of all...it has Phillip Seymour Hoffman! He has been great in everything he did so far in his career by choosing the most challenging and different characters every time. I think he deserves a Oscar for every part he played, but he certainly deserves one for playing Truman Capote! He is incredible! It was also very inspiring to see my acting coach Mark Pellegrino  have a substantial part in such a great movie! He was my teacher for over a year at Playhouse West.

Documents show Getty had signs

Good job Mr. Felsch and Mr. Frammolino by publishing your article on September 25th, about the Getty, and the legal issues they are facing. Especially very well done how Dr. Marion True has been portrayed. Dr. Marion True was not portrayed as a conspicuous model of integrity and cooperation with countries throughout her career at the Getty, and the incredible job she was almost able to finish to reopen the original Getty Museum in Malibu. No, not that Dr. Marion True. Instead, a image of her was created by by the "recently obtained hundreds of pages of Getty records". Now the question that raises to my mind is how are documents about such confidential juridical topics obtained by journalists? Were they given in good will to write articles about the Getty and Dr. True? Found in a trash bin? Or maybe "looted" from the Getty site? Interesting to read an article about "allegedly selling artifacts looted from ruins in Italy", based on confidential documents "obtained" by a newspaper. So now the fact remains, that Dr. Marion True "resigned" from the Getty, just as have many other prominent long time Getty employers like the Director of the Getty Center, her interim replacement, and the Getty in-house head of public relations have "resigned" since Mr. Barry Munitz came on board as the Getty trust's chief executive. Raises a lot of questions with me, and I hope many other loyal LATimes readers. Why not write an article about these developments, and try to approach it from both sides, because no where in the article from September 25th, I read about Dr. Marion Trues world wide reputation as a highly intellectual and respect curator of antiquities, and considered one of the best in her field. Now, all this information above I found by doing some research myself my using an Internet search engine, and not by "obtained" confidential documents.

Cherish your health

After having a relaxing on Tuesday, I had a not so relaxing day on Wednesday. I had to take a sick day because I had an audition at 12:30, and then to Cedar Sinai for a MRI of the neck and one of the brain.

The audition went well, as far as I could tell. The MRI's were horrible. First I had to wait for the longest time. Now, I am a patient person, but waiting to have your brains checked out is not a calming, relaxing to pass time. When it was finally time to move me in the machine, I was put on a neck and head brace. It was very uncomfortable, and the headphone would fit very well, so I couldn't hear the music. Instead I heard all the horrible noises of the scan. I was so happy when after an hour it was over.

Then I had to walk over to my neurosurgeon's office. After 20 minutes waiting in the waiting room, I was transferred to the examination room were I waited 45 minutes! After the actual MRI I was pretty exhausted, and already made myself crazy with the "what if..." questions. Now waiting for over an hour in a small doctors office, waiting for the doctor to walk to that door telling me everything was okay, was the worst time ever. I drove myself crazy, and didn't know what to do with myself. I kept on telling myself I'm fine, I have no tumors, everything is cool. But then out of boredom you go through the brochures, which of course were all about tumors. At the end I comforted myself with telling myself that a tumor just sounds bad, but if I would have one, it would be so bad, because some are easy to remove.

Finally, my doctor comes in and he is a very nice guy (I met him before after my back MRI results), and he apologized for the long wait, but he got called to some emergency. And then he said very quickly to make me feel very happy that he could not see anything wrong with my brain or my neck on the MRI's! After an hour standing and pacing, this was the first moment I sat down in the chair. Then we discusses my situation with my back (lumbar spinal Stenosis), and the progress with physical therapy. I'm going to get an injection in my back that hopefully will make it all better. Anything better then surgery.

So, now all the tests are over I can count my blessings that even though I'm not perfect, I am in good health, and can work on making things better. So, even though the day was emotional draining, the results were very good, and I even won $2 in the lottery. Now let's hope I booked that commercial!

National Security?

So a spy in the White House??? If this government can't even secure The White House, how in the hell can they secure The United States of America?

Tuesday

If you're having a bad day at work right now, stop reading, because I don't want you to hate me.

Because I work for a Jewish Foundation, I have today off (Rosh Hashanah). Had to get up early though for an early appointment. Got back, surfed the Internet, reading articles about Peter's work devastation, had another appointment, and now listening to some music before putting my ass on the couch to watch DVD's. Till 5pm, because then I have another appointment. I know, I know, it's beautiful day outside so I should do stuff, but you know what...I just don't feel like it, so the couch it is!

Good luck with getting through this Tuesday.

What the f#ck?

Will anyone please stop him or bring him to reality? First Roberts with only 2 years experience as a Judge, and now Miers with no Judge experience? As an European I'm still stunned that a President can be impeached for lying about a blow job, but nothing is being done about a President who lied about a war, and keeps on making serious mistakes (Miers, Katrina, Iraq, any of his public speeches). And still people as me if I will naturalize to become an American... NOT on this watch!

To whom it may concern:

HAPPY ROSH HASHANAH!

Keane

Friday night I saw Keane in concert with Vanguard , Chasing Mercury  and Rye , and Keane was amazing. It was the last concert of their 2 year tour, and The Greek was one of the biggest venues the performed at. They were very humble and appreciative about their success, and it was very cool to see such a talented band being so down to earth.
They performed a couple of new songs which were beautiful, and I really hope they will show up on their next album.
